  My brother is an elder. He has 3 kids who have been raised to preach from an early age. They would ''place'' magazines as youngsters to being ''pioneers'' today. They all work part-time jobs today so they can ''pioneer''. Two of them went to college and were offered good paying full-time jobs. But at the end, they decided that working part time and ''pioneering'' was their best choice.

  When they were around 12-14 years old,they were made to ''pioneer'' in the summer months. They would ''pioneer'' in the hot summer months while all other kids would be sleeping in,swimming,playing,and going on vacation. Just picture a 12 year old peddling ''WATCHTOWER MAGAZINES'' with a suit and tie in the sweltering months of July and August.

  I wish I called Child Services on my brother for the inhumanity he put on his kids.

  Why Are They Called "Pioneers"?

  does anyone know how the wts came up with the term "pioneer" and the related "auxiliary" and "special" pioneer terms?.

  it's not in the bible and it seems to come from us expansionist history....

  ] mentioned a young sister who had a flourishing day-care service that she loved.

  My brother was counseled for working nights when he was a teen. He worked at a grocery store and missed the ''book study'' and ''ministry school'' meetings.(He needed money to pay for gas and car insurance.)

  My mom made him quit his job when the elders asked why he was missing so many weekly meetings.

  They had a part at the ''service meeting'' with my brother and an elder talking about the dangers of working nights when you should be attending the weekly meetings.The congregation,my mom,and elders were all happy he quit his part time job.

  Last year at the 1 day assembly,a brother gave an experience the whole congregation loved .He worked in construction and missed too many meetings because the work involved finishing concrete and staying there to make sure that no one wrote on the concrete. The elders asked him why it was so important to work at a field where he would miss so many meetings.

  He talked it over with his wife and decided to quit his job. After one year he was still unemployed but at least he wouldn't miss any more meetings and that Jehovah would provide for his family.(He failed to mention that he lived downstairs from his parents and that they helped him financially)

  My uncle is attending foreign language 3 day 2010 summer Convention.He doesn't understand one word!

  my uncle is in his late 80's .due to many health problems,my uncle and aunt won't be able attend to the 2010 summer convention which will be in dekalb,il.

  the drive is close to 90 miles from where they live.. so.....they have decided to attend a spanish convention which is 20 minutes away from home.

  someone from the local kingdom hall will drop them off and pick them up each day.the sad part is that neither speaks or understands spanish.they will sit there for 3 days and not understand one word.

  So.....they have decided to attend a Spanish convention which is 20 minutes away from home. Someone from the local Kingdom hall will drop them off and pick them up each day.The sad part is that neither speaks or understands Spanish.They will sit there for 3 days and not understand one word. Talk about loyalty!(or is it stupidity)

  Did you or anyone you know ever attend a foreign language assembly or convention and waste your time?

  What causes the authority complex the WTS has? Or even common JWs? What drives the need to control others?

  in the thread above, several posters made the point that if xjws could walk away from the religion without losing their family and close friends, then they wouldn't even bother worrying about the wts afterwards.

  they would simply move on in life.

  This is my favorite thread ever started in the 4 years I've been on J.W.N.!

  That's been my question all along!

  Why can't they let me tell the Elders that I no longer wish to be a member?

  Why do I need to lie about why I no longer preach,give talks,don't answer at meetings,and show up at the meeting only 3 times a month?

  Why will I be labeled an apostate if I no longer believe?

  Why must my family disown me if I no longer believe the ''truth''?

  Why must I choose between my family and the WTS?

  What harm does the WTS suffer if I decide NEVER talk bad about the organization?

  Why is it so easy to get in but so difficult to get out?

  Why do you (WTS) believe in the freedom of speach for the Society but not to individual members in the congregations?

  Why don't you condense all your operations and make the religion only for diehards?

  I think the answer to your question is that the flood gates would open and most members would leave the organization. Who then would be left to contribute money and distribute the literature?

  When you really think about it,why would God talk or even listen to Satan if they are true enemies?

  Being a Witness for over 35 years,the Wts made me fear Satan and his demons. They( Satan and his demons) tempted us with hard rock music,watch improper movies,skip meetings,become greedy with money,and have fear to preach ''the good news''.Now,I believe humans create and are responsible for all the evil in the world.

  Is Satan just a made up character or is he real ? Did he really talk to God?

  Jeff Foxworthy comes to a local Kigdom Hall and tells these jokes. We all laugh and go out house to house telling these jokes to all the nations showing that not all Witnesses are boring.

  You May Be a Jehovah’s Witness If……….

  You wash windows or cars for a living and still own 5 suits.
  You know the cleanliness of every coffee shop for 4 Towns around.
  You think nothing of letting your friends stop by and use your bathroom.
  You go to Home Depot & go down the aisles where the doors are displayed & you feel compelled to knock on them.
  You Can’t pick up a book or anything to read without a pencil or highliter.
  You can’t buy a pair of shoes without thinking how they feel walking residential streets in 95 degree heat.
  A pioneer is not a stereo.
  You know what Nisan 14 of the Jewish Calendar is in the Gregorian Calendar. From year to year and yet you commonly forget your own birthday.
  You spend 3 days at a baseball stadium,never saw a ball and didn’t have a beer.
  You have a “Get Together”, rather than “Parties”, and after wards your house is not a mess & you have more food than before you started.

  Why can't the WTS handle the truth on why people really leave the organization?

  what do you think are the reasons why the wts can't handle the truth on why members quit?

  why must they disfellowship everyone who would say something like this to an elder on why he/she no longer wishes to be a member......................................................................................................... '' i do not want to be a member any longer because of the changing ''generation'' teaching,the wts is just a publishing and real estate corporation,the preaching work is just a means to distribute books and magazines,the baptism and disfellowshipping of teenagers is wrong,the meetings are boring,the meetings are repetative, the 144,000 is symbolic not literal ...etc.....etc.....

  I agree that once you're given a Placebo,it is up to you if it is working. Once you see that the Placebo works on other members also,you benefit even more.

  As you said,once it becomes a chore,boring,repetative,tedious,bothersome,tiresome,and a waste of time,it's time to quit.
